Solving Bible Poverty
“…for the word of God is alive and active.”
Hebrews 4:12
Africa Bible Ministries desires
to solve Bible Poverty
Most African Christians—and even entire Christian households—don’t have access to a Bible. This makes it difficult for believers to grow in their faith and even more challenging to disciple others effectively.
Margaret went to church faithfully for over 25 years without ever owning a Bible. “I tried to remember what the pastor preached on my way home,” she recalls. “I felt like a second-class citizen in the Kingdom of God.”
That changed when she finally received her own Bible. Now, each evening, her children read to the family from it.
“My family has changed,” she says. “I share my Bible at the well each day, and I no longer wonder if the pastor is making up stories—I can read along as he preaches.”
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.”
Luke 4:18
ANSWERING THE HUNGER FOR SCRIPTURE
We serve where Bible poverty is greatest—rural areas, slums, schools, and refugee camps - where God’s Word is out of reach.
We work with regional pastor associations to deliver Bibles by shipping containers—10,000 copies in one language at a time.
“As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path...Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”
Matthew 13:3-9
• We train men, women and youths
who have never owned their own Bible.
• Attendees who walk for miles
to receive
their first Bible.
• Pastors bring congregants who
are eager
to hold their first Bible.
WHO DO WE SERVE AND TRAIN
WHAT DO WE REQUIRE
• Learn how the Bible speaks to them through the Holy Spirit.
• Hear the story of Christ from Genesis to Revelation.
• Commit to share the Gospel with two people in need of a Savior
To receive a Bible, attendees:
"...when you received the word of God...you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe."
1 Thessalonians 2:13
The Need is Urgent
The African church is growing—but most believers still lack a Bible.
False gospels are spreading faster than the truth of Christ.
Without God’s Word, new believers
lack the spiritual nourishment they need.
God is calling us to put Bibles into His people’s hands.
“Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation..."
1 Peter 2:2
